2011 Construction Start

Construction has now commenced on a £1.5M residential development in Belfast with successful contractors Geda/Glasgiven JV awarded the 16 month contract for 16 apartments by Clanmil Housing Association.

The project is designed to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 and will feature solar photovoltaic roof panels, flue gas heat exchangers and mechanical ventilation heat recovery together with optimum thermal insulation levels and acoustic enhanced glazing.

The project is located on Stewart Street, near Belfast Central Station on a site known as "The Boiler House" having previously accommodated the boiler plant for a local district heating scheme. The delivery of this project will meet a long standing social housing need in the inner City.

Gary Patterson, Project Architect at Andrew Nesbitt architects states:

'This is positive news for the start of the year and will deliver much needed construction employment activity'.
