Fisherman's Row, Killough

Fisherman's Row, Killough enjoys a unique maritime environment at the South East end of the Conservation Area in this historic Village on the East Coast of County Down near St. Johns Point and Dundrum Bay.

Our clients acquired two seafront properties within a partially walled enclosure and instructed us to seek approval for a retirement apartment development.

We successfully designed a traditional street frontage infill development to reinstate the building line and provide generous apartments with seaviews towards Scotland. The frontage development also provides gated access to a courtyard garden within which a stone and brick built mews block provides additional single level and duplex dwellings within a stable block design.

The approval was deemed by the Conservation Architect to represent a high standard of design and enhance & make a positive contribution to the Conservation Area and after modifications to provide in-curtilage parking was fully approved.

Streetscape, scale, massing, facade design, proportions & materials have all been carefully considered and chosen to enable detailed approval for 14 luxury apartments to be achieved.
