U Store It are a Dublin based company who have pioneered the self storage industry in Ireland and presently operate from several centres in Dublin plus Cork, Waterford and Belfast.

Andrew Nesbitt architects were retained to advise U Store It on acquiring a suitable site for a new flagship scheme in Belfast and then to design a self storage warehouse to maximise the potential of the prime site acquired on the North side of the M1 approaching Belfast from Dublin and the West of the Province.

The design incorporates maximum building volume on the site with two principal floors and will facilitate the insertion of future mezzanine levels within the approved scheme.

The potential office content of the scheme was also maximised at planning stage with the Motorway and Parkland elevations containing perimeter office suites at upper levels for storage users needing

on-site presence.

Lock-up Trade Counter and showroom suites are provided for at the ground level perimeter where users can enjoy 'own door' access for trade use.

The project has reached detail design stage and has included a specific fire engineering strategy to address regulatory criteria for storage premises of this size and configuration.
